Timothy Matthews is an entrepreneur and environmental innovator with extensive experience in sustainable land and forest management across California. Having founded and led multiple companies from the ground up, Timothy has developed new, effective approaches to wildfire prevention, land restoration, and biomass utilization. His work spans slash-and-burn, mechanical mastication, hand fuel reduction, and grazing-based vegetation management using goats and sheep. By integrating these methods with composting, biochar production, and biofuel generation, he’s helped transform excess biomass into valuable soil and energy resources — offering long-term solutions to wildfire fuel buildup.
Inspired by his firsthand experience with wildfire devastation in 2015, Timothy founded the California Forestry Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to creating fire-resilient landscapes and sustainable land-use practices. He holds a C-49 Tree and Palm Removal license and is pursuing ISA and Master Logger certifications to further strengthen his credentials.
